The Shepherd’s Day Away retreats are co-sponsored by Minnesota Renewal Center and WellSpring Life Resources. Since 2000, a Team of ministry caregivers has been providing one-day contemplative retreats for ministers, missionaries and church leaders in the atmosphere of tranquil settings and the presence of the Holy Spirit. We have addressed topics ranging from seasons of ministry to listening in prayer to revisiting/renewing our calling to understanding the rich implications of being the beloved of God. Each day is formed around short introductions to our themes then interspersed with plenty of alone time for reading Scripture, prayer, reflection, meditation and rest.
Join us Monday, May 7, from 8:30-4:00, as we sit for the third installment in the Compass of Grace – the Psalms series. (You need not have come to the first two sessions in the series in order to attend this one.) This year we have been pondering the leader’s journey with God as a continual cycle of orientation, disorientation, and reorientation of ourselves in Christ. In life and ministry, our interior path leads us through seasons of certainty… uncertainty and loss... and ever-deeper anchoring in our heart’s true home, Jesus.
The theme for May: Reorientation: New Life for a New Day – Psalms 23 & 116
Once again, the Book of Psalms, that ancient doctor of souls, will provide us with care as we listen for Jesus’ invitation to find new hope out of lament, new joy out of loss, and new life for a new day!
