This one-day workshop is for therapists of all skill levels, Member care professionals, pastoral counselors and graduate students.

The focus of the workshop will be on how emotionally focused therapy (EFT), using an adult attachment perspective, can assist couples create connection & resilience.

EFT is one of only two empirically validated approaches to treating couple distress and the only one anchored in attachment theory.

EFT is particularly helpful in working with missionaries in that it goes directly to the most common cause of distress for cross-cultural workers—disconnection from spouse, family and friends—or even god.  Focus is placed on restoring relationships.

The presenters will use research findings, personal/professional experience and in-session video segments to demonstrate the process and effectiveness of EFT.  Small group discussions and role-plays will also be used to make this workshop as clinically relevant and applicable as possible.
